How to join the Guild:
We meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra, between Belfast and Bangor. We enjoy a wide and varied programme of lectures and workshops, with textile artists and tutors, both local and internationally recognised, sharing their knowledge and expertise. Topics range from traditional skills to contemporary techniques. Our meetings often include Friday, Saturday afternoon and Sunday workshops as well as the Saturday morning lecture. Membership consists of about 120 professional and semi-professional textile artists, enthusiastic amateurs and interested novices. Some have completed Art Degrees or City & Guilds courses in creative embroidery but many more are happy to come along on a Saturday morning to meet friends, have a cup of coffee and hear an excellent lecture. Membership is open to everyone on payment of an annual fee of £20. Non-members are very welcome to attend a maximum of two meetings a year on payment of a visitor’s fee of £3. When attending a Guild Meeting entry to the Museum is free and parking is in the Town Car Park beside the Parochial Hall where the meetings are held. Coffee is served from 10.30am, the lecture starts at 11 and the meeting is over by 12.30. Please contact us for more details.
